srt.js: A Video Augmentation Framework of JavaScript Embedded as Subtitle Information in YouTube

Please try to use “srt.js” according to the following procedure.

If “srt.js” for your video has already uploaded on YouTube as a subtitle file, please insert the eleven-character ID of your YouTube video in XXXXXXXXXXX part of the following URL, and access it using your browser.

If you want to make a mashup of another user’s video and your “srt.js,” you should first share your “srt.js” using Dropbox, GoogleDrive, or github, and obtain a URL, then access the following link.

Usage Examples

Here you can try the demo video introduced above and other examples. If you have any browser, you can enjoy these examples without installing anything. If you are asked, “Are you really going to continue this?” please answer “OK.” If “srt.js” does not work well, please change the browser. Chrome is best for PC (windows/mac), and Firefox is best for smartphones.


Extended Expressions in Conjunction with Videos

If you type your name in the text box, your name is synthesized in the “Happy birthday dear XXX” part. PC chrome is better for operation check.

This program is on the supposition that you use it by your smartphone at Takanodai Station of the Seibu Line. If you change “close=100” part in the URL to the smaller number, it can be precisely judged whether or not you really reach the checkpoint in tens of meters. If you use iPhone, the video is compulsory played in a full-screen mode.
